Hydrogen Fuel Cells Destroy Engines?

I think not. Recently I came across a article somewhere that said hydrogen will dissolve into the metal and brake down the metallic structure, making it sound like using dry hho in the engine will destroy it. This got me thinking. The only way that hydrogen will destroy metallic structures is if the metal is completed submersed in an environment containing hydrogen, this is the only way that hydrogen will have time to dissolve into the metal.  There are 3 major things that contradict what they said in the article:

  • Major car companies have already shown the entire world that basic cars can be modified to run on hydrogen. Ford, GM, Honda, BMW have all developed both concept and working vehicles that run on hydrogen with better designs set for future mass production.

Rebecca & the Fuel Cell vehicle BMW hydrogen car - finally i can justify driving a bmw again! FORD C-Max H2-ICE Hydrogen car from Honda FORD C-MAX H2-ICE

Notice how the engine looks nearly identical to a regular engine, with the exception of the hydrogen lines and gauge system hooked up to it..

  • The only way hydrogen can dissolve into metals and break down the structure… is to submerse the metal entirely in an environment full of hydrogen for an extended period of time.. Dissolving anything is a process that takes time (unless corrosive acid is being used, which then will take a few minutes). But we are not using sulfuric acid to run our engines… we are using hydrogen.
  • The hydrogen would not have time to dissolve into the engine metal anyway because of combustion. The hydrogen is sent directly to the combustion chamber, which is then combusted and what leftover molecules (if any) are reunited as steam vapor which is then expelled directly through the exhaust valves (remember the engine is still a few hundred degrees). Then travels out the exhaust system where it cool with the outside air into pure, clean h2o.
  • Storage is also not an issue with dry hho since the hydrogen is produced on demand and is used right away. The car companies have found their ways with the storage by making the tanks from carbon fiber which makes the tanks stronger and eliminates the rare occurrence of explosion from impact since carbon fiber will not explode like a steel or aluminum container. (This doesn’t apply to people with dry hho systems anyway).
  • Running combustion engines on hydrogen, that previously used gasoline, will actually clean out the carbon and gunk from the engine making the life of the engine actually last longer. (In theory, proper hydrogen systems should supply more power to the engine since it is a very powerful fuel source, the sun uses it, and there isn’t any gunk clogging up the horsepower).

So clearly whoever wrote the post on hydrogen destroying metal did not realize that this does not apply to combustion engines and hydrogen actually improves the function, life and power of the engine. The car companies and other successful entrepreneurs have already proved this statement.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Research And Development

Hydrogen production research has been going on for over a century now (there are documents to prove it) perhaps even longer in countries like Germany. But somehow hydrogen has been suppressed from going mainstream. Can’t help but think that the oil companies had something to do with it. It’s undeniable by any scientist or physicist that hydrogen is the most abundant and efficient fuel in the solar system. Hydrogen is so dynamic as a fuel that it can be used in any part of the energy industry from transportation to electricity production even space exploration. NASA has been developing hydrogen technology for it’s space programs for decades now.

I came across another free eBook regarding hydrogen fuel cells and the future of the economy. Apparently this information wasn’t acted upon because the document was written September 23, 1987 and published by the US Government Printing Office in 1988. They’re coming up with great solutions and proposals but somehow they keep dropping the ball. We have the solution we just need to act upon them and obviously it’s up to the people (entrepreneurs and private sectors) to put pressure on regulations and individually make this change in our economy for a greener planet and a more efficient transportation industry. Here’s is an excerpt from Energy Research And Development and Energy And Natural Resources United States Senate (page 143):

[Future Hydrogen Program

"Given congressional support, DOD interest, NASA reconstruction, DOE direction, SERI and other national laboratory leadership and expansion of the program initiated by the Florida/Hawaii team, our country can regain control over our energy future." (page 142)

"The U.S must commit to it's own hydrogen energy initiative"... "Hydrogen production is just such a high potential technology option." (page 140)

"In the transportation sector- the largest consumer of oilhydrogen offers a clean alternative and the fuel choice of the future." (page 138)

"World oil supply locations and shipments have raised concerns about national security, which to the point of indigenous energy resources such as hydrogen. We won't be blackmailed by any capricious  Middle east potentate if we can produce our own energy needs." (page 138)

National and international scientific communities have raised well founded alarms about acid rain and the "greenhouse effect" both of which will be alleviated by the use of hydrogen rather than fossil-based energy forms." ] Testimony on S. 1296: To Establish A Hydrogen Research And Development Program. By Dr. David L. Block, Director Florida Solar Energy Center and Patrick K. Takahashi, Director Hawaii Energy Institute.

Presented to the U.S Senate Subcommittee On Energy Research And Development, Committee On Energy And Natural Resources September 23,1987. ]

Obviously this amazing proposal and solution to U.S energy needs and security was shut down and turned away by the U.S Senate twenty three years ago. Almost everything that has happened regarding ecological disasters and security relations between countries has happened since then. The price of oil has gone up and our environment has gotten much worse when a solution was laid out before the Senate 23 years ago.

Hydrogen is clearly a solution that will solve nations energy and security needs across the globe. It is now up to us… the entrepreneurs and innovators… to make the changes that need to be made for a better planet, better economy and a better future.

Can hydrogen be used as fuel in cars? Yes. Very efficiently and even better… it requires barely any modification to the car or engine. When the hho generator is hooked up to the air intake, that’s it. The hydrogen fuel system is hooked up. With an engine that has carburetor, that’s all that’s all that needs to be done. Newer vehicles use computer technology to communicate with the engine so newer car models need a simple flash chip plug-in and an oxygen sensor fix since the current settings in the computer management systems are no longer relevant. An easy fix to use clean hydrogen fuel in our vehicles.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology: Hydrogen For Military Purposes

In doing some research I found some really interesting documents and materials regarding the research and development of hydrogen for fuel purposes. Finding the material was one thing… but what’s really surprising is the dates on the material. The first document titled “Hydrogen For Military Purposes” is dated August 20, 1920! That’s not a typo…1920. This is an official government document from the Washington Government Printing Office that was created 90 years ago regarding hydrogen production.

My first question is what happened to the last 89 years of hydrogen fuel cell research and development? It blows my mind to think how far we could have come in 90 years economically, culturally and technology wise. How many economic disasters could have been non-existent? How much cleaner and wealthier would the world be today?

Here’s the link to the free eBook PDF document “Hydrogen For Military Purposes“. http://ia311016.us.archive.org/3/items/hydrogenformilit00chan/hydrogenformilit00chan.pdf
At the end of the ebook there are some really interesting schematics involving balloon design. Too bad they didn’t realize it was the combustible thermite coating (used to boost solid rocket fuel engines) that was an obvious main issue. Granted hydrogen is a combustible gas… however the Hindenburg incident is proof of how powerful and efficient hydrogen is. Gasoline is also flammable and dangerous. So is propane, oxygen, acetylene, butane, ethane, propylene and methane. These are gases that are all used is some part of industry including transportation, everyday.

Hydrogen got a bad rap because someone/something needed to be blamed and hydrogen was the easy target. Sure the German engineers were brilliant, there’s no doubt about that. However, it was the engineers and not the hydrogen that was at fault. One thing the Hindenburg does stand testament to, is to not coat objects (let alone a blimp) in a solid rocket fuel.

When contained and used appropriately… hydrogen is the most efficient fuel in the universe that far exceeds propane, ethanol fuel, and the disgusting/inefficient/primitive oil derivative we call gasoline. Hydrogen is the fuel that makes the stars and the sun shine and burn so brightly. Ask NASA… they’ll confirm it.

Here’s something else really interesting. Top of page 4 says “hydrogen of the greatest purity is obtained in commercial practice by the electrolysis of water, the hydrogen collecting on the negative electrode and the oxygen on the positive electrode where the current enters the cell.” This is a government document stating this 90 years ago and almost a century later, we are finally going back to the development in this simple technology. If for some stupid reason anyone was skeptical… here’s the physical evidence that this is how hydrogen is made for fuel use. The top of page 7 “Hydrogen From Water Gas“. This has to be one of the oldest documents on record using the term “water gas” or more commonly said water fuel.

Plainly said, we have missed out on ninety years of clean hydrogen fuel development. The earth, economy and species of this planet have suffered because of it. This should be a little bit of an inspiration for people to get on the hydrogen fuel (dry hho) train. Hey… there’s an idea.

Difference Between Dry HHO And “Wet” HHO.

For those looking into hydrogen generators, you might be hearing the term “dry hho” being used. If there is a dry hho there must be a wet hho right? Sort of.
The hydrogen generator technology is basically the same but with two different concepts. “Wet” hho refers to the hho generators that submerge the conductive steel plates in a container full of solution. This is the most basic form of hydrogen generators… but not as “smart” as other designs. The wet hho systems have many different designs but use more materials. Mainly the large container. Because of the design they also have to take up more space since the plates have to be surrounded by more solution. While wet hho systems work… they are not as efficient as dry hho generators.

Dry hho generators contain the solution between the plates, separated with rubber spacers. By thinking smart, the plates and spacers become the container. This is also what makes dry hho much more efficient. For one, all of the solution is concentrated between the plates requiring less space and energy. Second, electricity is also used efficiently since it only has to travel between plates and flowing through the concentrated solution rather than flowing throughout a container. This allows more hydrogen to be produced at a much faster rate. Comparing the two pictures, it’s obvious to see the clean efficiency difference. Making a wet hho system bigger requires getting a whole new container, then adding more plates and putting it back together. With dry hho if you want to make the generator bigger… all you have to do is add more plates and bolt back together. Simple as hydrogen…no wait…pie.

Dry HHO Working Installation

Dry hho working system on a Isuzu Trooper truck. This is very practical installation and a great example of how an basic hydrogen generator will look when installed on the engine. The 21 plate 8″ by 8″ dry hho cell is fairly impressive in size and hydrogen capacity. While this engine is a V6… the same generator would definitely put out some power when applied to a V8 engine. 2 of these on a V8 could give a large truck the fuel economy of a Ford Focus or Mini Cooper with the use of a Flash Chip.

The unit seen on the left side of the screen is the “bubbler”. This is a unit that is used to protect against flashback. Flashback is the rare occurrence when the fuel being burned ignites and travels back to the source. This is very rare when the HHO system is setup appropriately and usually only happens when the engine is producing too much power. (The same thing happens when using an aerosol can as a blowtorch). Theoretically, this can happen but I have never seen it. On the rare occasion that it would happen… the bubbler or flashback protection is there and is extremely inexpensive. For $2 one of these can be made.

This is a great example to see that hydrogen generator systems are not overly complicated… in fact they are much simpler than you would think. Years ago, just to test the theory… I made a hydrogen generator out of a empty spice container, 2 tiny steel plates and a cell phone charger. Not only did it work but it produced enough hydrogen to make a torch out of the top. A small spice container did all of that.

High School Students Create Tons Of Dry HHO.

G.T Baker Aviation High School students are researching and developing hydrogen generators for use in aviation. Amazingly they are creating some pretty cool stuff and having great success with it. One video shows a hydrogen generator running an actual jet engine… something that very few people have seen before. Imagine every plane in the world running off of clean fuel and actually contributing to the air quality. Utopia in this sense, is very close we just need to make efforts to get there. Instead of waiting foe someone else to do it. Check out the hydrogen generator on a jet engine.

Running vehicle engines off of gases is nothing new.  PNG cars (cars that have been fitted to run off of  natural gas have a very similar setup to hho generator systems). Really the only difference between the 2 is the type of gas… hydrogen.

Dry HHO Generator On A 5700 LB Truck.

This is one of the best installation videos I have seen for dry hho. Keep in mind he is installing the dry hho system on a 2003 Chevy Avalanche that weighs more than 5600 lbs and gets a measly 17mpg without hho.

Imagine what a  Honda Civic could do with this type of dry hho generator installation.

Part 2 of the dry hho installation shows how much hho is being produced. I don’t recommend sodium hydroxide, potassium electrolyte burns much better and cleaner. Baking soda can also be used as the electrolyte. Electrolytes are needed to allow the current to more effectively flow through the water. As the current passes through the water it’s split into it’s basic elements hydrogen and oxygen. When the water is full of electrolytes… more current is allowed to flow efficiently… which allows more hydrogen to be produced. Dry hho generators are very efficient at this because the current is already concentrated in a smaller area.

Hydrogen Powered Jet Engine.

Proving that jet engines can and do run off of hydrogen with amazing results. While this engine is being run off a tank of hydrogen, it proves that if a dry cell can produce enough hho… it will work. Not only will it work but it will work very effectively and provide clean green energy for airlines and private jets. Dry hho generators today can produce a huge amount of hydrogen to fuel any kind of engine.

Smart kids proving that jet engines will run on hydrogen. The next question is which airline will be the first to say that their entire fleet of planes runs on the clean energy…hydrogen? Imagine the billions that will be made not using jet fuel. Invest in that company when it happens.
